You tube in your mobile

If you are addicted to video sharing site YouTube, then its time to open up your mobile browser and point it too http://m.youtube.com/. Yes the popular video sharing site is ported on your favorite cellphone by YouTube itself.
The Mobile YouTube welcomes you with a warning screen saying, YouTube Mobile is a data intensive application. We highly recommend that you upgrade to an unlimited data plan with your mobile service provider to avoid additional charges. In Indian, Airtel subscribers - both with mobile office as well as netonphone need not worry as these are unlimited data plans!
So whats the catch then?

No YouTube is not charging anything.
No you need not buy or subscribe to any third party application or service.
Only thing existing mobile networks in many countries (including India) are not enough fast to playback videos smoothly on cellphon
To I play a video, click on the its thumbnail graphic, and your phone’s built-in media player will be launched automatically! So you do not need to install anything!
The only requirement is that your handset must supports streaming video (RTSP/3GP with H263/AMR).But this is something that all Mobile handsets equipped with Web Browsers already have!
You can also upload video from phone by using MMS. But you need to create a upload profile by visiting http://www.youtube.com/mobile.
One more thing don’t get panic if you are unable to find a video on Mobile YouTube. Yes there is a search feature on Mobile YouTube too. I guess it will be the first thing YouTube developers cared about as they are part of Google family now.
Coming back to the point, currently YouTube have selected library of videos on the mobile website. And it is not the case that videos uploaded from YouTube Mobile profile (via MMS) will be directly featured on Mobile YouTube. So keep this in mind while uploading a video from Mobile (as it may cost you more).

Access Internet From Mobile Using PCs Internet Connection

You can surf in your mobile with the internet connection in your PC. What ever it be.you will be able to use FREE internet on mobile. Of course, you may need to pay for internet service you use already on PC.
Now as with most mobile hacks, this is limited to symbian mobiles which includes almost all Nokia Series60 and Many Sony Ericsson phones.
Anyway online most of the time, I need internet on mobile only to update themes, games and other stuff. Downloading themes, softwares and other stuff on PC and then sending them to mobile is one option but I always find its tedious.
This one is really better as its FREE and speed is much better than what GPRS ever offered!
How it will work?

We normally connect PC and Mobile for file transfer and data synchronization. One step ahead, we use GPRS on mobile to connect internet on PC side. All these means, two devices can connect to each other and share Internet. Only remaining possibility left to check was, can mobile dial/use/access internet on PC?
And here is the solution which will work for sure but may need some efforts…

Requirements…
A PC with internet connection. OS does not matter. Also it doesn’t matter how you connect to internet from PC.
A symbian handset with GnuBox - a free and open-source tool which will do thing on your handset.
mRouter to do things on PC side. Its optional but can save your lots of time. You can manually handle
Now first requirement is obvious, lets take care of the remaining too…
Preparing PC side…
#using mRouter (Windows only)

Windows user can download mRouter. Then install it on your PC and restart the machine.
Next you need to configure mRouter which is quick & easy. Tam Hanna explained it very well here.
#without mRouter
Now all major OS have internet connection sharing feature.
On windows, you need to add a new modem and attach it to COM port which is used fro Mobile-PC communication. As an example check this article for details on how to do it on Windows, Symbian Mobile & Bluetooth channel combo.
Covering all details of other OS is not possible here. Check tutorials section below for a matching reference.
Preparing Mobile side using GnuBox…
GnuBox is available for more than 20 different handset models. You can check all available downloads here.
GnuBox have a dedicated page here (alternate link). Do not forget to check it, as it have
For particular instructions for your handset, OS combo, check tutorials from following section.

Speed up browsing AVI files (audio/video)

By default, opening folders containing AVI files (audio/video) can be very slow because Windows is trying to extract non important information. This can be solved, by deleting the following key:HKCR\CLSID\{87D62D94-71B3-4b9a-9489-5FE6850DC73E}

A faster Windows shutdown

Shutting down Windows can take a long time. You can speed this up (at your own risk) with the following tweaks in the registry key:HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\DesktopChange the following String values:AutoEndTasks=1HungAppTimeout=4000WaitToKillAppTimeout=4000WaitToKillServiceTimeout=4000

Disable the balloon tips

Already irritated by the information balloons, covering the important buttons in the Start Menu? Start the registry editor and navigate to the following key:HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\ Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advancedchange or add the DWORD-values EnableBalloonTips and ShowInfoTip, both with value 0.

Changing the Registered Owner

Starting Regedit
1. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE / SOFTWARE / Microsoft / Windows / CurrentVersion
2. From there you can edit the name in the Registered Owner key

Enabling the Middle Mouse Button on Mouse

To enable the middle mouse button on Logitech Mouses to act as a double-click button by only pressing it once:
Run Regedit
Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\LOGITECH\MOUSEWARE\CURRENTVERSION\SERIALV\0000
Change DoubleClick to equal 001

Hiding Any Combination of Drives

If you want to stop a drive or any combination of drives appearing in Explorer/My Computer
Add the Binary Value of 'NoDrives' in the registry at HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer
Give it a value from a combination of the table below:
A 1 00 00 00B 2 00 00 00C 4 00 00 00D 8 00 00 00E 16 00 00 00F 32 00 00 00G 64 00 00 00H 128 00 00 00I 00 1 00 00J 00 2 00 00K 00 4 00 00L 00 8 00 00M 00 16 00 00N 00 32 00 00O 00 64 00 00P 00 128 00 00Q 00 00 1 00R 00 00 2 00S 00 00 4 00T 00 00 8 00U 00 00 16 00V 00 00 32 00W 00 00 64 00X 00 00 128 00Y 00 00 00 1Z 00 00 00 2
Where (for eg) you want to hide Drives {C,E,J,O,R,U,Y,Z} you would give 'NoDrives' the value 14 42 12 03Where C+E = 14, J+O = 42, R+U=12 and Y+Z = 03Please NOTE: The Numbers are to be added in HEXadecimal ie: ABCD = 0F, not 15 All Drives Visible is 00 00 00 00 All Drives Hidden is FF FF FF 03

Recover deleted files from corrupt USB thumb drives,Memory cards and Hard disks

Have your USB drives become corrupt or deleted your files or formatted your USB Pen drives accidentally without knowing and thought that all the files in the drive are gone forever. But in the actual case the file is still alive and it’s recoverable only if the disk hasn’t been overwritten.Only the pointer to that file is being actually deleted and the windows thinks that there is an empty space and writes over them. When a file is deleted, it is removed from the file system. However, the actual data is not erased.Sometimes after unsafe eject of your USB drives it might show that "Drive not formatted.Format it now".Doing so will destroy all your data that moment itself and you are forced to recover that deleted files.

According to Lexar tech support, there is a bug with Windows 2000 (that MS never bothered to fix) and can corrupt the drive when it is removed without proper eject. They recommend EasyRecovery Pro for data recovery which did allow me to recover some files (> 500) using their RAW data recovery program (all other tool failed because usually said "no recognizable file on disc").
See how Linux could save your data from a corrupt USB hard drive at LinuxJournal:How a Corrupted USB Drive Was Saved by GNU/Linux

Use your Flash drive as RAM!!

With the release of Windows Vista, Microsoft has introduced a new technology called ReadyBoost. With the help of this technology one can use any Flash drive, SD Cards, CF Cards as the third memory option for the computer.
Now, the benefits of Flash Drive or Cards as a source of Memory :
1. It is faster than the virtual memory which is accessed through the hard disk drive.
2. It is cheaper as compared to the actually Physical Memory.
How can it be activated ?
In order to activate the ReadyBoost technology on your FlashDrive or Memory Cards, you have to follow these steps…
1. Open My Computer.
2. Right Click on the Removable Disk Drive and select Properties.
3. Click on ReadyBoost Tab.
4. Enable the feature by selecting the option and allocate the amount of space you want to use as memory.
Things to be noted….
1. Regardless of the fact that you use Readyboost or not, you need at least 512 Mb of memory to run Windows Vista decently.
2. If your device is not giving the option of ReadyBoost then it means that it doesn’t clear up the minimum data trasfer rate required by ReadBoost technology
